Senegal Lagoon Project
Geosynthetic Technology Limited recently completed the lining of a Dirty Process Water Lagoon near Senegal, West Africa, as part of the Grande Côte Mineral Sands Project.
The geomembrane material selected for this project was Exceliner PP 1.5mm smooth Polypropylene. The main benefits of using Exceliner PP include: thermal stability in high ambient temperatures; puncture resistance far higher than that of HDPE; and fast seam-welded speeds.
Once exported to site the geomembrane was batten fixed to a concrete spillway, using stainless-steel fixings and a waterproof gasket.
The Lagoon Lining was completed in less than one-week on site, under the supervision of a Geosynthetic Technology Limited Technician who carried out all of the seam-welding and testing, with local unskilled Labour being provided by the Main Contractor.
This is another example of an international lining project completed by Geosynthetic Technology Limited. All work completed by Geosynthetic Technology Limited is in accordance with our ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Standards and benefit from our bona-fide Warranty, together with our Professional Indemnity and Product Liability insurance.
