Contained Land Capping

Experts in the capping of contaminated land using our Geotextile & Geomembrane materials
A Geotextile will be laid over the Geomembrane, this will provide additional protection against piercing damage from top layers of soil or stone drainage blankets.

Capping of contaminated land is required when a landfill or contaminated area of land needs to be contained and isolated from the surrounding ground water or flora and fauna, to avoid the release of potentially dangerous gasses and liquids. Contaminated land capping also prevents people and local wildlife from coming into contact with potentially dangerous hazards and water seepage into the contaminated land that can result in an increase in leachate generation and result in an increase in cost for site closure and maintenance.

Caps should be made of an extremely low-permeability material such as concrete or dense clay, coupled with a Geomembrane and Geotextile to make an effective barrier lay

Our Geomembrane liners are an extremely low permeability, and our Geotextiles have been designed to offer a high level of puncture resistance. Our geotextiles will protect the Geomembrane from punctures that can occur from cover soils or stone drainage blankets.

Geosynthetic Technology have over 40-years of experience of the fabrication and installation of Geotextiles and Geomembrane liners, across 35-countries and 5-continents. We have worked on a plethora of projects providing a high level of fabrication, installation and testing of Geotextile and Geomembrane liners. We have a range of experience in the fabrication and installation of Geomembranes for the containment of contaminated land and other low permeability requirements such as Secondary containment linings and gas barrier membrane installation.

We welcome the opportunity to work with you to provide technical assistance and pricing information for the Geotextiles and Geomembranes required for your land capping project, please do not hesitate to contact us regarding your project.

Our tried and tested process which we have defined through the years

Land Capping
Your chosen contactor will complete the installation of a low-permeability containment cap, such as a clay or concrete cap.
Geosynthetic Technology will then install the recommended Geomembrane for the project, this will be a low permeability, puncture resistant membrane suitable for use as a secondary containment liner.
The Geosynthetic Technology team will weld any required joins within the Geomembrane sheeting to ensure total isolation of the contaminated area.
Once the Geomembrane has been laid and welded, our engineer will test welds and material to ensure a high quality cap.
A Geotextile will be laid over the Geomembrane, this will provide additional protection against piercing damage from top layers of soil or stone drainage blankets.
